We’re just two short weeks away from this year’s AWS Summit in London. This year, the Summit is a two-day event, kicking off on May 9th, so I and wanted to highlight some of the things we’re most looking forward to on both days!

Day One

Keep an eye out for the Start Up Day and Builder’s Day tracks, as well as the Lightning Talks in the Innovation Hub.

But there are two things in particular we’re really looking forward to: the Well-Architected and the Public Sector days.

The Well-Architected Day is a free, hands-on event to help illustrate how to develop AWS workloads that are secure, reliable, cost-optimized, and high-performing.

I’m delighted to share that Contino has recently been approved as a partner to conduct AWS Well-Architected Reviews in support of your cloud journey. To learn more about how Contino can support Well-Architected as part of your cloud journey, come visit us at stand 38.

At Contino, we’re seeing a huge amount of interest in public cloud adoption right across the public sector, making the Public Sector Pre-Day is another highlight on the 9th.

The agenda for the pre-day includes workshops and panels on topics including GDPR, governance, migration, and security specific to the public sector context.

Contino public sector lead Alistair Smith will be in attendance, too! You can get insight on Contino’s approach to DevOps and Cloud in the Public Sector with Alistair’s interview series on the Contino YouTube channel. Check out ‘How Are Attitudes to the Cloud Changing in Government?’, for example.

Don’t miss the Keynote! Werner Vogels and Gavin Jackson kick off proceedings for the second day of the London Summit.

Then the breakout sessions commence, including:

Cloud Choices: Quantifying the Cost and Risk Implications of Cloud
Speaker: John Enoch, Business Development Manager, AWS

This session ties business outcomes to cloud adoption at the enterprise level, and how best to balance perceived risk against the potential value in technology change projects like these.

The Contino team onsite will be happy to share how a financial services customer’s adoption of Contino’s approach to DevOps on AWS helped refresh their access to a £300m market 14 months quicker - and £2m cheaper - than the previous delivery model.

Lightning Talks

Just as in the first day, Lightning Talks continue on May 10th - and one in particular caught our eye: How We think About Innovation at Amazon, presented by Asaf Anolik, Head of Innovation at AWS. For more on AWS’ internal approach to innovation, make sure to check out the AWS Panel Meet the Builders session afterwards.

At Contino we’ve helped customers, often in highly regulated industries, drive enterprise transformation as an enabler for innovation. If this is important to you, you should carve out some time to visit Contino at our stand! If the above reasons haven’t convinced you yet, dropping by stand 38 will allow you to:

  • Discover how to scale and accelerate compliant software change in the enterprise

  • Hear how we transformed Allianz, ADP, Barclays and RBC

  • Find out your DevOps Maturity with our 2 minute self-assessment

  • Stickers and swag: spin our prize wheel to victory!

Looking forward to seeing you there!
