Company Announcement

London, UK 25 September 2017 - Global DevOps and Cloud Transformation Consultancy Contino has been awarded AWS Financial Services Competency Status

We’re delighted to announce that Contino has just been awarded AWS Financial Services Competency status, one of only 13 other APN partners globally with the Competency. The announcement is well-timed, coming shortly before Contino sponsors the Financial Services Industry Day at AWS re:Invent 2017.

This competency recognizes the extent of Contino’s expertise in this complex and highly-regulated vertical, as well as the ongoing success of our work on the ground at Allianz as well as other Global 100/250 financial services organizations.

Achieving the AWS Financial Services Competency differentiates Contino as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that has demonstrated relevant technical proficiency and proven customer success, delivering solutions seamlessly in the AWS cloud environment. To receive the designation, APN Partners must possess deep expertise in the AWS platform and undergo an assessment of the security, performance, and reliability of their solutions.

Matt Farmer, Contino Co-founder and CEO, commented on the award: “Increasingly under pressure from ever-increasing regulation and compliance on the one hand, and competitive threats from FinTechs and rising customer demands on the other, more and more financial services firms are looking to out-innovate the competition by embracing a DevOps- and cloud-based strategy. We’re thrilled that AWS recognizes our expertise in this domain and our dedication to helping our clients to augment the quality of the digital experiences they deliver to their end users.”

Contino launched its Global Financial Services Practice last year to help our clients understand how to leverage AWS as a viable technology platform for addressing regulation, risk management, and compliance in a secure manner, while delivering innovation faster and more efficiently using DevOps practices.

Benjamin Wootton, Contino Co-founder and CTO said: “During the 10-plus years I spent working in investment banks in the past, I saw the same problems and bottlenecks coming up again and again - including siloed working, legacy technology, and lack of automation and agile infrastructure. Contino’s FSI Practice helps our financial services clients to solve these problems at the root and to introduce innovative - and much more profitable - ways of working.”

Benjamin Wootton, Contino Co-founder and CTO continued: “AWS is beginning to shift into the mainstream in the financial services industry. We work with our global enterprise clients to deliver key innovation projects, while upskilling their teams in cloud-native ways of working that can increase the speed of innovation on AWS by several orders of magnitude.”
