Contino Awarded Global Partner Status for AWS' New Managed Service Offering

Contino is proud to announce that we have been officially recognised as an Amazon Web Services Managed Services (AMS) global partner.

AWS Managed Services (AMS) operates AWS on your behalf, providing a secure and optimised AWS Landing Zone, that can easily be aligned with an enterprise operating model, on-going cost optimization and day-to-day infrastructure management.

Ultimately, the end goal of AMS is to help customers and partners remove the necessary — but undifferentiated — heavy lifting associated with infrastructure operations, so that you can focus on your applications. And Contino can focus on helping you with the work that is truly differentiating: application migration, refactoring and remediation as part of our dual delivery and upskilling model (we give your teams the skills they need, while delivering on key projects).

As customers move to serverless architectures leveraging solutions such as AWS Lambda, and ideally a nirvanic future-state of ‘No Ops’, Contino has made a clear decision to focus on becoming a leader in Consulting Services, and Enhancement and Optimisation services as opposed to becoming a traditional Managed Service provider. We see a clear need for customers to reduce investment in traditional infrastructure management practices and increase investment in innovation combined with modern ways of working and modern architectures and leave the undifferentiated operational management tasks to AWS.

Andrew Venables, Director of Consulting at Contino commented on Contino’s acceptance as an AMS partner: “AMS offers our customers further opportunity to reduce their risks and costs associated with traditional, commoditised IT infrastructure and support services for critical workloads without compromising security or change controls. Contino’s strong and trusted partnership with AMS also allows us to collaborate closely and directly contribute to the AMS development Roadmap. Our combined experience and shared obsession to deliver real business value delivers continual improvement to the platform. This empowers our customers to retain high quality engineering talent, invest more in innovation and in turn, deliver more for their customers.”

Michael Zajer, one of Contino’s leaders in defining customers’ operating models stated: “We see AMS as a means for our customers to reduce their daily operational overhead normally spent on resolving unplanned stability, throughput and performance interruptions. This enables Contino to work more effectively alongside our customers and focus on higher value enhancement and optimisation activities such as automation and deployment improvement, AWS roadmap adoption, cost management activities and adoption of modern ways of working.”

Contino’s reference as an AMS partner can be found here and if you’d like to learn more about the AMS service, as well as how Contino can help your organisation accelerate an operating model that spends less time, effort and budget on keeping the lights on and more on innovation and moving to cloud native architectures, please reach out to us via hello@contino.io or come talk to us at AWS Summit Sydney, Stand R3 from 30 April to 2 May 2019.
