Contino's newly-published research report 'The State of Digital Transformation in Australia' reveals the top challenges and opportunities for Australian IT departments in 2018

After massive success in the UK and US, Contino has officially launched in the Asia-Pacific region with offices in Sydney and Melbourne.

To mark the company launch, we have published the first-ever Australia-specific digital transformation and DevOps report. The respondents included over 110 IT professionals, from engineers to directors, working at some of the best known Australian enterprises in the most competitive sectors.

The top five findings from the report include:

  • Improving customer experience and engagement is the main objective for the majority of organisations’ 2018 digital strategies.

  • Only just over 10% of companies can bring a new customer product to market in less than three months.

  • Digital projects will require upskilling staff in over 90% of cases.

  • On average, only 46% of an organisation’s applications are on public cloud.

  • Big data, AI and machine learning will soar in significance in 2018.

The findings were presented at our two evening networking events: 1 February at Shangri-La's Blu Bar in Sydney and 7 February at Melbourne's Eureka89. Both events were a great success with over 100 attendees and a great time was had by all.

Meanwhile, Contino has already been flagged by the Australian Government for its investment in the region. While the entity was set up on 24 July 2017, the company has been in a soft launch phase until February this year. Now the organisation has 16 members of staff working across the Sydney and Melbourne offices, supporting a number of project deliveries.

Andrew Brydon, VP of Consulting (APAC) at Contino, reveals why we decided to launch now: “The Australian market is really pushing forward with business change and Contino is ideally placed to support that. The business is planning to triple in size over the course of 2018 and I feel privileged to be a part of such a skilled and passionate community. There’s currently a huge amount of positive momentum in the company and I am excited to build further on a culture that enables us to continue growing and excelling in the delivery of great outcomes for our customers.”
